Drive For Justice will be remembering Rachel Corrie in London on the weekend of 14 & 15 March 2015.
Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli bulldozer on the 16th March 2003. She was an American peace activist aged 23, who was part of the International Solidarity Movement. At the time of her death, Rachel Corrie was peacefully opposing the demolition of Palestinian homes in Rafah, Gaza Strip.
Rachel Corrie gave her life whilst opposing the injustice and systematic oppression and dispossession of the Palestine population.
Corrie’s parents filed a civil lawsuit against the state of Israel. The lawsuit charged Israel with not conducting a full and credible investigation into the case and with responsibility for her death, contending that she had either been intentionally killed or that the soldiers had acted with reckless neglect. They sued for a symbolic one US dollar in damages.
Recently, the Israeli Supreme Court rejected their appeal.
We encourage as many people as possible to join us on Saturday 14th March 2015 -12.30pm outside the Israeli Embassy, 2 Palace Green, London W8 4QB.
