Take action on 24 June at a PUMA store or stockist to demand the company ends its sponsorship of the Israel Football Association, which governs for football teams in illegal Israeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land.
PUMA is under pressure. We made sure its 75th anniversary AGM last month was dominated by it’s the topic of its ties to Israeli apartheid.
Protesters massed outside the venue, while inside activist shareholders took PUMA’s senior management to task on the company’s continued sponsorship of the IFA. On social media, we took over PUMA’s hashtags with calls for it to finally end to its sponsorship of the IFA. Social media posts directed potential PUMA shoppers to a new website outlining the truth about the company’s unethical ties.
We must keep the pressure up. Palestinian sports teams continue to demand that PUMA stop its support for human rights abuses against them. But PUMA keeps ignoring them.
At the AGM, PUMA’s CEO Arne Freundt was forced to acknowledge the widespread protests, but refused commit to end PUMA’s ties with the IFA.
As Israel’s land grabs continue apace its more important than ever that we take action against companies supporting Israel’s land grabs, like PUMA.
