Israeli Apartheid – Join the Global Fight Against Racism
A public event hosted by Brighton & Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign
Supported by Brighton & Hove Trades Council
Monday 5th April 2021 at 7pm UK time (via Zoom)
Please note that you must register in advance for this event – details below
In 1966, the United Nations designated March 21st as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, in memory of the 69 Black Africans murdered by the South African Apartheid regime in Sharpeville in 1960.
Today there is one Apartheid state left – Israel. In January 2021 B’Tselem, Israel’s main human rights organisation, declared that Israel, in its systematic oppression of the Palestinian people, maintains ‘a regime of Jewish supremacy from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea…This is Apartheid’.
This meeting will commemorate UN Anti-Racism Day by linking anti-racist struggles now and in the past.
