Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights Student Network are hosting a film screening of Stone Cold Justice followed by a panel of speakers discussing child detention in the West Bank and Israel.
Speakers:
Tareq Shrourou is the Director of Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights and a qualified solicitor with expertise in international and UK human rights law. Tareq spearheaded LPHR’s ‘Know Your Rights’ campaign, educating Palestinian children of their legal rights when arrested. Tareq also worked closely with MPs during the 6th Jan 2016 Parliamentary debate on Israel’s detention of Palestinian children in the oPt.
Jude Lanchin is a Senior Associate at Bindmans, specializing in criminal defence work. Jude is well-regarded for her experience in dealing with high-profile cases involving young people. Jude was one of nine British lawyers who took part in an independent delegation to the West Bank and Israel in 2011. The delegation analyzed Israeli military law as it affects Palestinian children in the West Bank, producing the 2012 report ‘Children in Military Custody’.
