Hastings PSC: Film screening of ‘Open Bethlehem’
Map Unavailable

Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign hosts the first screening of ‘Open Bethlehem’ in Hastings.

Open Bethlehem is a 90 minute documentary first released last Christmas. Film maker Leila Sansour returned to Bethlehem, the town of her childhood, to make a film about her home town. Her short stay stretched to 5 years of filming – and includes the building of the apartheid wall.

The wall and the Israeli occupation undermine the multi-faith town in which Leila’s Christian community had lived side by side with its Muslim neighbours for centuries. The film is about the director’s personal journey: it is also about the destruction of whole communities.
