Justice for Palestinians – Leamington Spa has a stall at the Leamington Peace Festival, with the aim of raising awareness of the plight of the Palestinians and also to sell Zaytoun produce – all from Palestine.
This year the focus will be on Gaza particularly in the wake of last year’s bombardment – Operation Protective Edge. There will be images of Gaza with quotations from Israeli soldiers who were involved in last year’s attack.
In addition Jatinder Sanghera will be at the stand as he prepares for a 5-day cycle ride (275km) in Palestine to raise money for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestine)
Manal Timraz, who is from Gaza and owns Habibi Restaurant in Coventry, will be giving a short talk to draw people’s attention to the situation.
At 6:15pm Baroness Jenny Tonge, the leading campaigner for Palestinians within the UK Parliament, will be giving a talk entitled ‘What Future for Palestine?’ . This will be at the Dormer Conference Centre next to St Peter’s church in Dormer Place.
