LGPS Divest: The Complicity of the LGPS in Israel’s Violations of International Law
December 2nd at 6pm UK Time
Across the UK, scheme members and their representative trade unions, supported by PSC, are calling on the Local Government Pension Scheme to remove investments from companies complicit in Israel’s violations of Palestinian rights.
Research as part of the campaign has identified that collectively, LGPS funds hold £4.4billion in complicit companies. This includes companies active in, or with, Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise on stolen Palestinian land, as well as companies supplying weapons, components, and military technology used in unlawful violence against Palestinians.
Join this webinar to learn more about how business enterprises contribute to sustaining human rights abuses against Palestinians, and the responsibility of investors to end their complicity in these abuses. We’ll also discuss how you can support the growing LGPS Divest campaign.
