The government plans to introduce an anti-boycott bill – we need as many people as possible to join us in Parliament on Wednesday 22nd March to show the strength of public opposition to this dangerous bill.
- You’ll receive a full briefing in advance of the Lobby Day about what to expect; how to meet with your MP; and what it’s like to visit Parliament. This includes a pre-lobby zoom meeting where we will give you instructions and you can ask us any questions you may have.
- On the day you’ll have access to our team of experts who will be on hand to offer additional information, personal guidance, and advice on meeting your MP.
- You’ll get to attend our popular evening solidarity event at Parliament.
The Lobby Day will take place from 11.30 – 17.30 on Wednesday 22nd March, with a special closing solidarity event open to all participants from 17.30 – 19.00.
The impending legislation will specifically target public bodies (including local councils), with an aim of preventing them from cutting ties with companies involved in human rights abuses in Palestine or elsewhere. This could easily impact on any campaign using boycotts as a tool for achieving climate or social justice.
While limited in scope, this bill should be seen in the deeply worrying context of government attempts to close down spaces of political activism and create a chilling effect for people talking about Palestine. Our response is to come back louder! Will you help us?
