 places4palestine\n\nAfter a brief respite Israel has resumed its genocidal
  onslaught in Gaza. As well as increasing its attacks on Palestinian in th
 e West Bank\, Israel is again targeting workers in Gaza. Journalists\, med
 ical staff\, and aid workers are all being killed at an unprecedented rate
 . Meanwhile\, backed by Donald Trump\, Israel is openly threatening the fu
 ll ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza. \n\nWe must call for an en
 d to 77 years of Nakba – (Catastrophe in Arabic) the systematic ethnic c
 leansing of Palestinians from their land\, started in 1948. We must contin
 ue to demand a permanent ceasefire\, an end to all arms sales to Israel\, 
 and justice for the Palestinian people.  \n\nOn Thursday 15 May 2025\,
  answer the call of Palestinian trade unionists by taking action in your
  workplace.  \n\nTens of thousands of trade unionists in Britain have j
 oined the huge national protests in London and elsewhere and have been lea
 ding an array of solidarity actions. In September 2024\, TUC Congress unan
 imously passed a motion demanding an end to all licenses for arms traded w
 ith Israel\, meeting international law\, reaffirming the need to advance a
  strategy of boycott\, divestment and sanctions\, and recognising that all
  Palestinians are subjected to a system of oppression that is recognised i
 nternationally as apartheid. Congress also voted to adopt an emergency res
 olution to support calls for UK-wide workplace actions in support of an im
 mediate ceasefire.  \n\nPalestinian workers\, remaining steadfast in pu
 rsuing their struggle for freedom and justice\, have called on workers aro
 und the world to stand in solidarity with them by campaigning to end the c
 omplicity of their governments\, corporations and institutions in Israel
 ’s system of oppression.   \n\nOn Nakba Day – Thursday 15 May\, t
 ake action in your workplace to demand an end to government and corporate 
 complicity in Israel’s atrocities\, call for a permanent ceasefire and j
 ustice for Palestine\, and mobilise for the national demonstration in Lond
 on on 17 May.    \n\n Discuss with your colleagues in your branch
  about what kind of action is best suited to your workplace and its circum
 stances. Take action in your workplace:\n\n 	 Organise a lunch-time walk
 -out in solidarity with Palestinians. Gather outside your workplace for a 
 photo\, and share it on social media (and copy us).\n 	Circulate a petitio
 n calling for the divestment of pension fund holdings from companies compl
 icit in Israel’s attacks\, such as arms companies supplying Israel with 
 the weapons it uses in its attacks.\n 	Organise a letter writing session f
 or your members to write to their local councillors to call on them to div
 est LGPS funds administered by the council from companies enabling Israel
 ’s war crimes.\n 	Support the Don't Buy Apartheid campaign by asking you
 r workplace to commit not to stock Israeli fresh produce and Coca-Cola pro
 ducts. Israeli agricultural exporters and Coca-Cola operate in illegal Isr
 aeli settlements on stolen Palestinian land\, using looted Palestinian res
 ources\n 	Organise a lunch-time meeting\, teach-in or film screening to ed
 ucate colleagues about the Palestinian struggle for freedom.\n 	Distribute
  leaflets for the national demonstration for Palestine on Saturday 17th Ma
