Palestine, 50 years on – what can YOU do now?
University of Westminster
Speakers: Eric Appleby, Encompass Trust / Abdulhakim Sabbah, Project Hope
Venue: Fyvie Hall, University of Westminster, 309 Regent Street, London
Want to learn about the modern day Palestine after 50 years of military occupation? Want to hear about how you can volunteer at the largest international volunteer organisation in the Northern West Bank by providing
educational support to some of the most marginalised communities in the world? Want to join artists and musicians from across the world to participate in the yearly Nablus Festival for Culture and Arts?
The University of Westminster and Encompass Trust are co-hosting an event, with guest speaker Abdulhakim Sabbah from the Palestinian charity Project Hope, to discuss opportunities for social activism in education.
Speakers will speak about the power of education and grass-roots work to empower today’s youth and bring communities together. Abdulhakim Sabah will talk about his work in Palestine to rebuild a failing education system and to combat widespread apathy in the context of a stalemate peace process.
