SUMMARY:Workplace day of action for Palestine
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\nWe are calling on workers across all sectors to take
part in the next Workplace Day of Action for Palestine on Thursday 26th N
ovember\, to challenge complicity in Israel’s genocide and demand justic
e for the Palestinian people.\n\nThis day takes place as part of a global
call to action from Palestinian trade unions and the BDS movement\, callin
g on trade unionists\, students and civil society organisations across the
world will take co-ordinated campaigning actions in solidarity with the P
alestinian people.\n\nFrom local government pension fund investments and c
orporate contracts to cultural partnerships and suppression of Palestine s
olidarity\, British institutions are tied to and support systems which ena
ble Israel's genocide and system of apartheid against the Palestinian peop
le.  \n\nWorkplace days of action are a way for us as workers to launch c
ampaigns to confront their complicity\, to demand boycott\, divestment and
sanctions.\nHow to take part: \nStep 1: Pledge to take part!\nPledge to
take part HERE. \n\nBy letting us know you will be taking part\, you will
receive access to updates\, resources and support from PSC in the build up
to the day\, and afterwards. If you are interested in taking action and
want to find out more about what you can do\, contact us here.\n\n[cta c

 " button_text="Click here"]\n\nStep 2: Download the workplace organising t
oolkit\nAfter registering\, you’ll receive access to our organising tool
kit\, including guidance\, resources\, and practical ideas to help you pla
n an action in your workplace and communicate about the day with your coll
eagues. \n\nStep 3: Organise with your colleagues\nWork with your colleag
ues to decide on the most effective action for your workplace. No action i
s too small. \n\n For your first time taking an action\, we would advise
hosting a union or staff meeting to launch your workplace campaign for Pa
lestine and starting conversations about how your workplace is complicit\n
Launching a petition or open letter to management to put across demands
for boycotts and divestments\n Coordinating a visible collective workplac
e action\, e.g. wearing badges for Palestine\, putting up posters or stagi
ng a lunch time walkout. \n Building an ongoing organising group beyond t
he day itself to take forward the demands and keep building the momentum.
\n\n \nWhy a workplace day of action?: \n\n\n They send a clear messa
ge to employers\, genocide is a workers issue as much as pay\, terms and c
onditions. Trade unions have a long history of international solidarity an
d struggle for workers rights and Palestine are connected. \n They build
power in the workplace\, creating opportunities for colleagues to organise
together\, often for the first time around shared support for Palestine a
nd anti-colonialism.\n They challenge institutional complicity\, putting
pressure on employers to end investments\, contracts\, and partnerships ti
ed to Israel's genocide and open up a space to demand a break from the nor
m of unethical investments and purchases\n \n\nWhether you are experience
d or new to workplace organising\, this day is about taking collective ste
ps to break silence in workplaces in Britain and answer the call of Palest
inians for boycotts\, divestment and sanctions against Israel. \n\nRegist
er now\, download the toolkit\, and start organising for Palestine in your
workplace. \n\nWe strongly recommend being part of a trade union\, if yo
u are not already\, please check out the TUC trade union guide to find the
right union for you here.\n\nIf you are a student taking action\, make su
re to connect with your local university union branches to coordinate acti
 ons!
