Richmond & Kingston and West London PSC Fundraising Walk: Thames Path Putney to Richmond

The walk is approximately 8.5 miles (13.5km) long and, apart from the final 3 miles, there are plenty of stopping points along the route with good transport links to Central London or Richmond.

The route traverses east alongside the River Thames from Putney Bridge, passing Hammersmith Bridge, Barnes Bridge, Chiswick Bridge, Kew Bridge, Twickenham Bridge, and ending just after Richmond bridge, where much needed refreshments will be provided by Richmond & Kingston PSC! The path is generally well surfaced but may be muddy in places, so ‘sensible’ shoes are recommended. The walk should take a reasonably fit person 3-4 hours. You may want to bring a packed lunch.

Assembly will be at 10.30am at the start of Putney Embankment, west of Putney Bridge (on the south side of the river). You can download this PDF with full details and a map of the route.

Palestinian Guest Walkers

This year we are proud to be joined by two Palestinian guest walkers whom you can sponsor by clicking on the name.  You can read a little about them here:

  • Omar Mofeed- A Palestinian living in London
I will be walking to raise money for PSC emergency appeal. PSC is the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights and justice. Being a Palestinian living in the UK, I feel the responsibility to do something to support PSC campaign, Please sponsor my walk to make PSC able to continue its unique work, for peace, equality, and justice and against racism, occupation, and colonisation.

  • Ayman Abuawwad – A Palestinian Librarian based in London
As a Palestinian whose extended family is living in Gaza under and illegal blockade imposed by Israel for the 11th year, you can imagine why I am doing this. PSC has so far done a great job to shift the public opinion on Palestine and counter the Zionist narrative and propaganda machine. Comes the time where PSC is having to take on costly legal battles as a result of attempts to suppress its support for Palestinians. I urge you to donate generously and sponsor my walk to enable PSC to carry on its great work in advancing the struggle for Palestinian rights and justice. If you can, please spread my word among your network of friends and encourage them to sponsor me on this walk as well. Thank you.
