 ues to intensify\, and life for Palestinians under occupation is reaching 
 breaking point. Israel’s nation state law officially codifies its long-e
 xisting apartheid system against Palestinian citizens of Israel\, illegal 
 settlement expansion continues to swallow up Palestinian land in the West 
 Bank and East Jerusalem\, and Palestinians in Gaza have yet again been mas
 sacred with impunity during the Great March of Return - all of which is ma
 de possible by the complicity and funding of government’s like Britain
 ’s\, and of our own institutions and universities.\n\n\n\nAs Israel seek
 s to consolidate its grip over Palestinian land beyond the point of no ret
 urn\, the need to accelerate and strengthen our campaigning is more crucia
 l than ever. The Palestinian-led BDS movement has proved the most effectiv
 e tactic for global solidarity. This conference will provide the tools to 
 build forceful BDS campaigns on campus that can collectively expose and he
 lp end UK universities’ complicity with Israeli apartheid.\n\nThe weeken
 d in Manchester will provide an opportunity for students across the UK to 
 come together\, meet and learn from one other\, with workshops covering: t
 he essentials of BDS\, research into University investments and collaborat
 ions\, framing the BDS case on campus\, pro-active campaigning\, social me
 dia workshops and how to produce a winning formula to achieve University d
 ivestment.\n\nBDS is a global movement initiated in 2005 following a call 
 from Palestinian civil society for the international community to Boycott\
 , Divest and Sanction Israel as a non-violent means to pressure Israel int
 o complying with international law and human rights conventions.\n\nStuden
 ts in the UK have been at the forefront of BDS campaigning for years. UK U
 niversities facilitate and profit from Israel’s militarism\, making them
  complicit in Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people. This can o
 ccur through their investments\, research collaborations\, lobbying and se
