Israel as a ‘Jewish state’: obstacle to peace?
A talk by Ben White, writer, journalist, researcher and activist specialising in Palestine/Israel in Watford.
Ben has been visiting the region since 2003 and his articles have been published in Al Jazeera, Middle East Monitor, The Guardian’s “Comment is Free”, Electronic Intifada, New Statesman, Salon, Christian Science Monitor, Middle East Eye, The National, and many others.
He has worked as a researcher and writer for the Journal of Palestine Studies, and currently does editing work with the Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies.
Ben has appeared as an analyst on Al Jazeera English and the Islam Channel, and spoken on BBC local radio and London’s LBC.
He has published two books, ‘Israeli Apartheid: A Beginner’s Guide (2009, 2014), and ‘Palestinians in Israel: Segregation, Discrimination and Democracy’ (2012), which have received endorsements from Desmond Tutu, Booker Prize-shortlisted author Ahdaf Soueif, Professor Ilan Pappé, Ali Abunimah and many others.
