TRISHNA IWe are extremely pleased to be supporting The Amos Trust (www.amostrust.org) for this session, with a night of raising funds and awareness for the people of Palestine. All the cash from the door will go towards rebuilding a demolished house near Bethlehem at the beginning of April.To explain further (in the words of Janet – Jimmy’s amazing Mum- who’ll be on the stall on the night);

“Basically, what happens is that if Israeli Military want PALESTINIAN LAND (to build the Wall/settlements/roads etc) in the West Bank, they use the excuse that Palestinians do not have permits to build, and therefore the houses or extensions they build are illegal, even if it’s the Palestinian’s own land. And of course the building permits are always denied to the Palestinians, and people are tied up in bureaucratic nightmares for ages. They may not have the deeds to the property, but everybody knows who owns what anyway. So the bulldozers move in, and families and properties are destroyed. Of course, when the houses are rebuilt, they will still be subject to demolition orders, but the point is SOLIDARITY with the family and PROFILE RAISING. And the Israeli authorities know that the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY knows what they are doing.”

There’ll be a stall on the night with Palestinian goodies for sale (handmade soap, gorgeously embroidered purses, scarves) so bring along some extra pennies to buy some ethical and fairly traded Palestinian goods. There will also be information available about current and ongoing projects in Palestine.

So without further ado, here’s the line up, bringing you ROOTS REGGAE, DRUM & BASS AND CLOWNCORE 🙂

As usual, come early for the Roots. Big love, and here’s some teachings from Mahatma Gandhi Ji-

Acknowledge and watch your habits, for they shall become your values. Understand and embrace your values, for they become your destiny.”
