We will hear from Palestinians how the Palestinians are combating the threats from Corona virus and the special challenges they face because of the occupation and the siege.
Professor Kamel Hawwash will give us an overview of the situation in Palestine,. As chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Britain he will also talk about what we can do under current circumstances to help Palestinians better able to cope with the corona crisis.
We will also hear from Dr. Mona El-Farra, Director of Gaza Projects for the Middle East Children’s Alliance, ia physician by training and a human rights and women’s rights activist by practice in the occupied Gaza Strip. She is also the Health Chair of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society of the Gaza Strip and a member of the Union of Health Work Committees. She will also speak about the conditions in Gaza and in particular the extreme difficulties health care workers can face in combating Corona crisis.
We will also hear from a young BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) activist Khalil Abu Yahia from Gaza about the conditions young Palestinians face in Gaza living in one of the most densely populated part of the world and with very meagre public and health services due to the siege and several destructive bombings it has had to endure during the last two decades.
