Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza is also an ecocide. There has been a systematic destruction and contamination of the environment across the whole of Palestine, including the agricultural land, water, and sanitation systems. There cannot be climate justice without Palestinian liberation.
Join Merton PSC for a thought-provoking evening in conversation with Dr Hamza Hamouchene on ecocide, imperialism, and Palestinian liberation.
Dr Hamouchene is a London-based Algerian researcher-activist, author/editor, commentator and a founding member of Algeria Solidarity Campaign (ASC), Environmental Justice North Africa (EJNA) and the North African Food Sovereignty Network (Siyada). He is currently the Arab region Programme Coordinator at the Transnational Institute (TNI). His work is focused on issues of extractivism, resources, land and food sovereignty as well as climate, environmental, and energy justice in the Arab region.
Dr Hamouchene’s books and Palestinian produce from Zaytoun will be available to purchase on the night.
