We are delighted to announce the appointment of Aimee Shalan as the new Director of PSC.

Appointed by PSC’s Executive Committee following an extensive and competitive recruitment process, Aimee will start in the post from the beginning of November 2026.

Aimee is a British Palestinian and brings with her nearly three decades of experience in campaigning for Palestinian rights and freedom. She comes to PSC as the current director of Makan, a Palestinian-led organisation providing transformative education to strengthen the movement for Palestinian liberation. She is also Chair of the British Palestinian Committee, a trustee of Shubbak Arts Festival, and a policy member of Al Shabaka.

Previous roles include: Chief Executive of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), Director of Friends of Birzeit University, and Co-founder and Director of Pressure Cooker Arts, a not-for-profit arts and advocacy organisation. She holds a doctorate in the Politics of Palestinian literature, and has taught at City University and Queen Mary, University of London. She has given broadcast interviews, and written for, a wide variety of media outlets including the BBC, Sky News, LBC Radio, the New Statesman, the Guardian, openDemocracy and Jadaliyya.
