Activestills: Photography as protest in Palestine/Israel
A presentation about the decade-long work of Activestills collective and the practice of photography as a form of activism.
Activestills was founded in 2005 and currently consists of 14 Palestinian, international and anti-Zionist Israeli photographers. Activestills members see themselves as part of the struggle against the ongoing settler-colonialism, as well as all forms of oppression, racism, and violations of the basic right to freedom in Palestine/Israel region.
Join us to hear a first-hand coverage experience by Activestills photographer, Ahmad Al-Bazz, who will elaborate on the current situation in Palestine/Israel region and highlight certain issues through photographs, videos and stories. The presentation will be followed by a discussion.
Ahmad Al-Bazz: a Palestinian photographer and documentary film-maker, is currently completing his MA in media studies at the UEA.
