PSC’s research has uncovered that local government pension scheme funds, administered by councils across Britain, collectively invest over £4.4billion in companies complicit in Israel’s oppression of Palestinians. This includes in companies supplying Israel with weapons and military technology used in its genocidal attacks on Palestinians in Gaza.
In addition, councils procure services from companies complicit in Israel’s attacks. For example, many councils use Barclays banking services.
Councils must take immediate action to end ties with companies that are complicit in abuses of Palestinian rights, including by divesting pension funds they administer from companies enabling Israel’s genocide. The deferred wages of local government workers must not be used to fund injustice.
Take action to demand councils divest for Palestine now!
