An illustrated presentation by Yonat Nitzan-Green & Miranda Pinch
Yonat Nitzan-Green is an artist based in Winchester. Her artworks focus on suppression and trauma in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and in particular to a Palestinian town that was destroyed in 1948.
Miranda Pinch has recently returned from a visit to Palestinian communities under threat in both Israel and Palestine. She was shocked at the number of villages that have already been destroyed and the many communities that are fighting for survival.
Yonat and Miranda explore what the loss of such communities mean to both Israeli and Palestinian societies and the development in both Palestine and Israel of creative non-violence action to preserve them.
The title ‘Fields of Hope’ represents the many meanings of the word ‘Fields’. The Biblical Abraham’s Field in tradition, agricultural fields and fields of research and knowledge, all hold the potential to widen our field of vision and hope and to recognise a common humanity.
