Hosted by the Bradford Literature Festival:
From Iraq, Syria and the Israel-Palestinian conflict to the nuclear talks between America and Iran. Images from, and the words about, the Middle East deluge our screens and provide reams of newspaper columns. The focus shifts interminably from one hot spot to the next in an unceasing round of conflict and carnage.
Join our expert panel as they analyse and discuss the historical factors that led to these conflicts and examine how the various power bases within the Middle East, both existing and emerging, interact with, and impact upon, each other.
The panelists will also discuss the Arab Spring and why after two years the hopes that had arisen have turned to dismay.
