The Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Al Zaytouna Dance Theatre would like to invite you to a special evening on Sunday 15th May to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the Nakba curated by Palestinian writer and director Ahmed Masoud and entitled على قيد الحياة (registered alive).
The evening will feature the renowned actor Maxine Peake reading from Masoud’s latest play, The Shroud Maker, dabke dance by Al Zaytouna in a special appearance, a reading from British Egyptian poet Sabrina Mahfouz, and a live score from musician and composer Dave Randall.
The event is an opportunity for all of us to come together and pause to reflect on the vivid culture of the resilient Palestinians whose Nakba still lives in each corner.
Afterwards we will be joined by John Doran (The Quietus) who will DJ Middle Eastern music.
Doors open 6pm. The show will begin at 7pm.
Entry is free, please reserve your place using the form below.
