Former BBC correspondent in Gaza, James Rodgers and Amena Saleem, journalist and activist give an ‘insider’ and ‘outsider’ view of the BBC and other media coverage of the Palestine/Israel conflict and how it fails to give a full and accurate picture of the issue.

James Rodgers recent book No Road Home describes his time in Gaza during the 2nd Palestinian intifada. He also served in Moscow and in Washington during 9/11. He now lectures at City University and is a local resident.

Amena Saleem has been co-ordinating PSC’s Fair News Project monitoring daily media coverage of the Palestinian issue. She is also a regular contributor to the website Electronic Intifada where she highlights and campaigns against media bias in reporting Palestine.

“In short, we found that BBC output does not consistently give a full and fair account of the conflict. In some ways the picture is incomplete and, in that sense, misleading”

Thomas report 2006 commissioned by the BBC governors.
