On Saturday 9 August, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Palestinian Forum in Britain, CND, Muslim Association of Britain and the British Muslim Initiative are organising a national demonstration for Gaza.
We are encouraging all organisations and individuals opposing Israel’s attack on Gaza, to attend. Our protests are diverse and include people from all walks of life, all faiths and no faith, who are coming together and uniting for Palestinian rights.
The protest is organised in line with the anti-racist principles of the sponsoring organisations. In particular no racist, anti-Semitic or Islamophobic placards or behaviour is acceptable. Stewards have been instructed to request participants to act with respect to all people on the march.
We know that many organisations support the demo and are welcome, but due especially to the size of the demonstration, constraints of space mean that there will be some areas of the assembly space that will not be available for stalls, other than those of the organisers. There will still be plenty of alternative spaces for stalls and placards, and we ask everyone to respect this arrangement.
There will also be one official collection to help cover the costs of the demonstration.
