Twitter action: Tell Oxfam to drop Scarlett Johannson over SodaStream role
Hollywood actress Scarlett Johannson has agreed to be the public face of SodaStream, an Israeli drinks company that manufactures its products in the illegal Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Adumim .
Johannson is also a goodwill ambassador for Oxfam. Having the actress representing Oxfam conflicts with the charity’s opposition to Israeli settlements. Thanks to the countless letters that Oxfam has received, they’ve now said that they have entered into ‘dialogue’ with Johannson.
In the past, Oxfam Italy cut ties with radio personality Paola Maugeri over her endorsement of SodaStream and Oxfam US sacked actress Kristin Davis over her endorsement of Ahava, another settlement company.
Let’s keep the pressure up on Oxfam to do the right thing.
