The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have responded to PSC’s petition to the Prime Minister, handed in early this year.
The letter details the Government’s shared concern about the situation, but gives no tangible suggestions as to what they will do to end the blockade on Gaza.
The Government have called on Israel “to ease restrictions” including on the “import of construction materials” and on “movement of goods to the West Bank and Israel”.
The letter goes on to say “We are also encouraging the Palestinian Authority, Israel and other interested parties to find both an immediate and long-term solution to Gaza’s energy crisis”
The letter also highlights UK aid to Gaza.
