Houghton and Sunderland South | Paul Edgeworth | Liberal Democrats | Yes | No | I wholeheartedly oppose illegal settlement expansions. The UK and the international community should do everything possible to prevent the demolition of Palestinian communities and expansion of illegal Israeli settlements. However, whilst I appreciate that many support sanctions, I do have some questions and concerns about supporting trade sanctions on Israeli goods. That’s because, as a liberal, I believe it is up to individuals what they buy or which causes they support, not the government. I am supportive of ways which enable customers to identify whether goods come from the Occupied Palestinian Territories and decide for themselves if they want to buy them. I personally wouldn’t buy goods from illegal Israeli settlements. I will certainly look further into this issue, to look at the situation under international law when it comes to the UK’s obligations and goods from illegal settlements, and to look at the merits of the legislation going through the Irish Parliament. | Yes | Yes | Yes |

I’ve spent plenty of time in the Palestinian West Bank, and fully see the destructive reality of the settlements; I fully support the boycott of settlement goods, by individuals. I’ve not previously considered the possibility of a nationwide ban/boycott, and would need to see more (eg from Ireland, the UN) before committing to it. Slough | Delphine Gray-Fisk | Brexit Party | Yes | No | The Fourth Geneva Convention came out of World War II, a response to the behavior of the Nazis in the countries they occupied and where they both moved peoples out – including Jews who were rounded up and sent to death camps, and also Poles and other Slavic peoples considered as untermenschen — and moved in more ethnic Germans, to parts of Poland, the Baltic states, and Czechoslovakia. But Israel was never an “occupying power†in the West Bank; it was there by right, the right conferred on it in the Mandate for Palestine and, one might add, by the fact that Jews had lived in the West Bank continuously for the past two thousand years. It was only between 1948 and 1967 that the West Bank was rendered Judenrein by the Jordanians. Second, Israel did not move any people out of the West Bank, nor did it forcibly move Jews into the West Bank. Those Jews who moved into West Bank settlements did so of their own volition. | No | No | Yes |

Twickenham | Munira Wilson | Liberal Democrats | Yes | No | • Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs) are illegal under international law, and I condemn US Secretary of State’s recent statement that they are not. These illegal settlements present an obstacle to peace that take us further away from a two-state solution. • Liberal Democrats believe that boycotts on this topic should not be state-mandated, but that it should be down to individual consumers to choose whether or not they purchase goods made in illegal settlements – I welcome the recent European Court of Justice ruling that all products made in illegal settlements should be labelled clearly as such. |

Welwyn Hatfield | paul zukowskyj | Liberal Democrats | Yes | No | It is impossible to restrict trade with the specific settlements without restricting trade with Israel as a state. That is not UN policy nor is it an appropriate response. I do endorse UN decisions on sanctions and other embargoes, however this needs to be globally led, not unilateral. | Yes | Yes | No |

Therefore I believe that there has to be a coordinated approach to ensure that a human rights approach is taken to secure equality across all communities. Sanctions will not be effective in themselves if other measures are not taken to progress opportunities for communities. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
