Land Day Webinar: The ongoing struggle against ethnic cleansing

When

30/03/2026
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

30 March is Yom al Ard, Land Day, when Palestinians and the solidarity movement commemorate the ongoing struggle against Israel’s settler-colonial land grabs and honour land defenders of past and present.

This year Land Day falls in the wake of Israel’s reintroduction of the colonial land registration regulations in the West Bank, which amounts to a mass land grab. As Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues, and attacks on communities in the ’48 territory increase, all Palestinians in their historic homeland and in exile will continue to raise awareness of the stakes of this ongoing Nakba; honouring, protecting and preserving their unbreakable connection to their land.

This webinar will serve as a part of that important mission, featuring renowned Palestinian scholars and activists speaking directly to the escalating threat of ethnic cleansing, its impact on specific communities and the inspiring ways in which Palestinians are resisting. They will also discuss the historic relationship between the Israeli state and the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in carrying out land grabs. In this country, the UK branch of the JNF remains a major fundraiser and propaganda outlet which operates as a registered charity.

Speakers include:

Dr. Salman Abu-Sitta is the founder and president of the Palestine Land Society, dedicated to the documentation of Palestine’s land and people. He is a PSC patron.

Dr. Kholoud al Ajarma is a Palestinian anthropologist, refugee rights advocate, photographer and film-maker.

Dr. Manal Shqair is a Palestinian activist and scholar focusing on everyday resistance in Palestine from a gendered and environmental justice perspective.

Chaired by: Iyas AlQasem, PSC Vice-Chair

Organised by PSC and Stop the JNF
