The week of 14 May marks 78 years of ongoing Nakba for the Palestinian people.
Palestinian education is under attack, whilst our universities collectively invest almost £460 million in companies which enable Israel’s occupation and genocide to continue. We are taking action as students, standing with university staff, to challenge our universities’ ongoing complicity.
Join us on 14 May for the national student and workplace day of action!
- Organise a walk out on Thursday 14 May, demanding your university end all complicity. Check out our guide on how to run a successful walkout.
- Use our Student Action Guide for inspiration for other actions you could take – from organising a film screening, to running a stall, launching a petition, organising a rally or putting up posters around your university.
- Mobilise for the Student Bloc at the Nakba 78: National Demonstration for Palestine on Saturday 16 May – use SU money to book a coach or get in touch with your local PSC branch to travel with them; get together to make a banner for the rally; make posters to put up on your campus; and get in touch if you would like some leaflets to hand out.
- Pass a motion at your Student’s Union to commit them to lobbying the university to divest (use our Template BDS Student’s Union motion – or since Barclays is a priority BDS target in this country, you could use this template SU motion to get your SU to commit to not banking on apartheid)
- Use our Student Divestment Guide to learn how to organise for divestment in your university.
- Get in touch with us at PSC if you need materials like flags, banners, lanyards, badges, stickers etc.
- Get in touch with the European Legal Support Centre if you need support against repression on campus; or email our Youth and Student Campaigns Officer
