Sainsbury’s uses suppliers that trade in products from illegal Israeli settlements. Israeli settlements are built on stolen Palestinian land and are illegal under international law.
In April 2013, the Co-operative stated that in line with its ethical policy it would ‘no longer engage with any supplier of produce known to be sourcing from the Israeli settlements’.
Please ask Sainsbury’s to follow the Co-operative’s good example and to stoptrading with suppliers which profit from Israeli settlements. Call on the Sainsbury’s CEO to stop stocking goods from companies that do business with Israeli settlements.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the campaign against actor Scarlett Johansson remaining an Ambassador for Oxfam, given her relationship with occupation profiteer, SodaStream. Read the Guardian article about the campaign> Following Oxfam and Scarlett’s split, the big impact of the Palestinian rights campaign on SodaStream’s business has come to light. SodaStream has tried to defend itself with images of happy workers despite the negative impact of the settlements on the Palestinian economy (read World Bank report). The vast majority of Palestinians don’t want to work in Israel’s settlements and BDS is a tool to end Israeli occupation.

During last week’s conversation, the students in Gaza spoke in detail of the problems they faced between November and December when Gaza was deluged with continuous rainfall that resulted in flooding of the Strip.
