We will be marking Palestinian Prisoners Day by protesting on Thursday 17th April (the day before Good Friday), outside G4S’ offices, Victoria Street, London. Please join us!
5 Broken Cameras
The BBC surprised everyone by showing 5 Broken Cameras on BBC4 on Monday night. The documentary is still available to watch via iplayer (for 5 weeks).
Unbelievably, the pro-Israel Government, BBC Watch, has criticised the BBC for showing the documentary, claiming Palestinians use ‘amateur dramatics’ to ‘shackle Israeli counter-terrorism methods and defame and delegitimise in the process’.
5 Broken Cameras
This response seems a desperate response to the shocking images in the documentary, including that of Palestinian activist Bassem being killed by Israeli troops during the making of the film. The findings of Amnesty International’s report that Israeli troops are ‘trigger happy’ is backed up by events this week. Award winning journalist, Amira Hass, recounts the killing of another Palestinian at point blank range, and a 57 year old woman was killed in Gaza. Recently two footballers suffered life-changing injuries at the hands of Israeli soldiers with one footballer shot 11 times in the feet.
Please contact the BBC to thank them for showing ‘5 Broken Cameras’.
