If you want to help change British Government policy on Palestinian child prisoners then join today and become part of our campaign
Thank you for all the support you have given to the PSC / Action for Palestinian Children campaign for child prisoners.
During December, Geoffrey Bindman, Betty Hunter and Haya Al Farra delivered a petition of almost 5,000 signatures to Downing Street and Alexei Sayle delivered over 900 Christmas cards to Alastair Burt, Minister at the Foreign Office. Read his replies here and here.
There are signs that the pressure is starting to build on Israel to abide by international law.The Jerusalem Postreported on 18th December that the Israeli authorities had cut detention times for Palestinian children.
However, there is no evidence that Israel’s policy changes will make any difference to children. Reports from people on the ground tell us that other changes – on use of plastic ties, rights to lawyers and telling parents where their children are being taken – are not being implemented in any meaningful or institutional way and that the human rights violations continue.
We need to keep up the pressure so we are asking you to take part in the next action in our campaign. Please write to your MP and ask them to sign the EDM 786 in the name of Jeremy Corbyn on the Rights of the Child.
Bronze medal for G4S… for worst company!
Want to help fund our campaigning work against companies complicit in Israel’s occupation? Please donate today.
Thank you to everyone who voted for G4S for ‘worst company of the year’. G4S – charged with being involved with ‘countless cases of violations of human rights abuses’ – came third in the ‘The Public Eye People’s Award’. Read why.
They faced strong competition from Shell – charged with exploiting the Artic – and Goldman Sachs – for pocketing fees which contributed to Greece’s financial ruin –
who came first and second.
The campaign to highlight G4S’s complicity in human rights violations will continue.
